Pink Stumps Day 5:30-7pm 6 Dec Gibson Park

November 27, 2019/in Uncategorised/by WNJCC-Admin

Ever wondered what it would look like if two Master Blaster teams dressed in pink played each other? With pink stumps and a pink bat? Read on..

On Friday 6 December at Gibson Park we’ll be proudly supporting Pink Stumps Day. Pink Stumps Day is the McGrath Foundation’s largest community fundraising campaign where cricket clubs and teams, workplaces, schools and backyard players across the nation turn their cricket game pink to fundraise for the McGrath Foundation.

Pink Stumps Day plays a vital fundraising role to help achieve the Foundation’s mission of ensuring every family affected by breast cancer has access to a free McGrath Breast Care Nurse, no matter where they live or their financial situation. This season the target is to raise enough money to fund another 120 breast care nurses for those affected in our communities.

“Hosting a Pink Stumps Day is a great way to get your family and mates together and enjoy Australia’s favourite summer tradition while batting for the McGrath Foundation,” Glenn McGrath, the organisation’s president and co-founder said.

“Over 1,200 people all across Australia held games last season and helped raise just over $1 million.”

Next Friday night we’ll have four Master Blaster teams battling it out in their pink kit to raise money for the Foundation. Any and all donations will be gratefully received on the night via the pink collection boxes that will be doing the rounds or, at the club donation site here.

Club president Chris Shay has pledged to donate all profits from the canteen that night to the Foundation to help us reach the target donation of $1000! Help us to make a difference!
