COVID 19 Return To Play industry plan

Our club will be following the industry plan and checklist as set out by the Queensland Government for field sports. You can view the plan here

Broadly, the plan requires us to ensure certain protocols are in place to ensure we maintain a contact register of those in attendance, maintain social distancing off the field and ensure that protective equipment is not shared. Our canteen menu is being revised in accordance with the Retail Food Services industry plan which we are also obligated to follow.

Please email us if you have specific questions about these requirements before registering admin@wnjcc.com.au

We are unable to accept team nominations in any other format.

What if my child doesn’t have a preference?

No problem! If your player doesn’t have a particular team in mind please use the player preferences question within the playcricket registration sign-up form (not yet active) to nominate three separate players/friends in order of preference. Please do not complete the player preference section of the playcricket registration form if you are already part of a returning team or custom team being submitted as referred above.

How will COVID-19 affect our games?

We are committed to following the “return to play” QLD Government guidelines: Return to Play Industry Plan link
Part of the COVID-19 “return to play” guidelines require:

    • Do not attend if you or a family member are unwell or, have recently been unwell, without clearance from a medical professional
    • Parents and carers of players must complete the contact register at the facility on arrival (more details about this process will be included closer to season start)
    • Anyone attending the facility must adhere to social distancing of 1.5m distance from each other when not participating in the “field of play” (talk to the coach if you are unsure where the field of play is). The field of play incorporates changerooms for players.
    • No sharing of protective equipment (helmet, pads, gloves, protectors). Bats must be wiped down with sanitising wipes if being shared. The club will not be able to provide any protective equipment for communal use within teams.
    • No shining of the ball with saliva or sweat
    • Regular sanitising of hands and equipment at breaks (speak to team manager about this)

Blue Card changes - No card, no start

Significant changes to Blue Card policy, card application and card renewal processes will be rolled out by QLD Government 31 August.

We strongly recommend anybody looking to be involved in a coaching or managing related role with a team read up on the new requirements and processes here: Blue Card – No Card No Start
