When and where?

We’re excited to announce that Friday night cricket will return to Gibson Park, Stafford every Friday 8th October 2021 to 3rd December and returning 28th January 2022 to 18th March
Master Blasters training starts at 5:00pm with games from 5:30-7pm. Junior Blasters play from 6-7pm.

Prices and how to register

Junior Blasters

$140 per player (8 weeks 8 Oct – 3 Dec)

Master Blasters (prices include playing shirt)

Boys $290 (17 weeks 8 Oct – 18 Mar)

Girls $185 (17 weeks 8 Oct – 18 Mar)

Before registering your player you are strongly encouraged to read our Code of Conduct. You will be asked to tick a box during registration to indicate you understand and accept this Code of Conduct as a condition of registration

What do I need to play?

We supply all necessary training and match equipment and match day playing shirt for each participant.


Can my child rejoin last season’s team or play with their friends again this season?

This season we’ve introduced a returning and custom team online form to streamline the team and player preference process. Please read carefully:

    • If you’re returning with a team from last season as coach, manager or interim contact person;or
    • You’re a new coach, manager or interim contact person putting together a new team; then
    • Please email admin@wnjcc.com.au to request a nomination form if you haven’t already received one

NOTE- You will need a minimum of six players to nominate the team


How will COVID-19 affect our games?

Outdoor sport (updated 03/07/2021)

  • Outdoor based organisations are no longer considered a restricted business, activity or undertaking. Therefore, organisations are no longer required to comply with an Industry COVID Safe Plan.
  • It is not possible for contact sports to observe physical distancing while undertaking activity, however physical distancing should be observed at all other times, where possible.
  • Whilst not mandatory, best practice to continue to clean frequently touched surfaces and shared equipment.
  • Indoor spaces associated with outdoor clubs such as clubhouses with licenced hospitality activities or canteens with indoor dining, are required to follow occupant density requirements of one person per two square metres. These areas are mandated to use the Check In Qld app to collect contact information for the purposes of contact tracing.

PLEASE NOTE BNJCA HAVE ADVISED U11 NOW STARTS AT 7.15am AND U10 STARTS AT 9.45am

Saturday junior club cricket will start on 9th October.

Saturday club matches are played at a variety of locations within the Brisbane North Junior Cricket Association (BNJCA) catchment area:

Registration prices and registration link

Registration prices for Saturday club cricket:

Boys:

$290 full season (terms 4 and 1 – 9 Oct to 19 Mar)
$240 half season (term 4 only – 9 Oct to 4 Dec Mar)

Girls:

$180 full season (terms 4 and 1 – 9 Oct to 19 Mar)

Age group cut off information

Our policy for Master Blaster (U8 & U9) to U12 Competitions states a player can play-up by four months or play-down by two months either side of the BNJCA age group brackets without obtaining age dispensation.

For players outside the above age groups please read about our policy for older players going up or down an age group here CLICK HERE. All players wishing to play down in age group must contact the club to discuss.

 


Playing shirts and match day uniform (please read)

PLEASE NOTE All Saturday club cricket players require a Wilston Norths long-sleeve playing shirt along with white pants and white or neutral coloured (where possible) joggers or rubber-soled shoes. Playing shirts are no longer provided with registration each season. New players or returning players requiring a new shirt can purchase a playing shirt for $10 online during the registration process:

Playing shirts can also be purchased from our Friday night cricket canteen at Gibson Park, Stafford from Friday 8th October 6-730pm. Please check your size requirements above before attending the canteen as we will not be able to provide shirts to try on.


What equipment do I need to play?

A player looking to start playing cricket with the essential equipment will need:

-Cricket bat -Helmet -Batting gloves -Batting pads -Abdominal protector Many sporting goods stores have reasonably priced junior cricket starter packs available which include the above equipment.

U12 Stage 2 format details

Last season Cricket Australia introduced a shorter, one day format called “U12 Stage 2”. Please refer to the document below to see how the new format differs to the traditional three hour / two day U12 “Pathway” format

We will send a form out to the team manager or contact person to update players if you aren’t full at time of nomination. The club can provide additional players to fill those teams where needed.

We are unable to accept team nominations in any other format.

What if my child doesn’t have a preference?

No problem! If your player doesn’t have a particular team in mind please use the player preferences question within the playcricket registration sign-up form (not yet active) to nominate three separate players/friends in order of preference. Please do not complete the player preference section of the playcricket registration form if you are already part of a returning team or custom team being submitted as referred above.

Blue Card changes - No card, no start

Significant changes to Blue Card policy, card application and card renewal processes will be rolled out by QLD Government 31 August.

Mycricket ID questions

If you don’t know your player’s Mycricket id please check your junk mail folder for our latest email correspondence containing your players id. Password resets can be requested from admin@wnjcc.com.au – please be sure to include the players first and last name and the Mycricket id number if known. More technical issues will need to be handled by the mycricket helpdesk 1800 274 2538
